The story of The Cottage began at home.
Like many families, we were searching for something gentler for sensitive skin. Some of my loved ones had strong reactions to synthetic fragrances, and my husband was struggling with ongoing skin issues that had him relying on several steroid creams that weren’t giving him the results we hoped for.
Wanting something safer and more nourishing, I began researching natural ingredients and learning how botanical oils and plant butters could support healthy skin.
Soon I was experimenting with small formulations at my kitchen table—simple blends made with pure, natural, and organic ingredients chosen for their soothing and replenishing qualities.
What started as a way to care for my family quickly grew into a passion for creating gentle, thoughtfully formulated skincare.
Today, The Cottage has grown into a small-batch skincare business, but the heart of it remains the same. Every product is still formulated, crafted, labeled, and packaged by hand with careful attention to the ingredients that go into each batch.
Because I believe learning never stops, I am also continuing my education in organic cosmetic formulation through Formula Botanica, deepening my knowledge so I can create the best possible products for the people who trust their skin to The Cottage.
